Granada is a beautiful city full of many different activities and hidden treasures. In this blog we’ve asked students studying at Escuela Delengua about their favourite things to do in Granada while undertaking an intensive Spanish course with Escuela Delengua.
Charlotte:
I love the viewpoints in Granada, especially Mirador San Miguel Alto. You have to walk a long way up but the view is worth it! You can see the Alhambra, the Sierra Nevada and the whole of Granada. We arrived just before sunset and it was just spectacular!

My other favourite part of the city is the Cármenes. They are so beautiful and so unique to Granada. We went last week with Escuela Delengua as one of the activities and took some amazing photos!

I would recommend that people go to ‘Los Diamantes’ in Calle Navas for tapas, which is close to Ayuntamiento. There you can enjoy the atmosphere of Spain and the taste of loads of different kinds of fried fish! Of course, there are free tapas…
Norman:
I’m staying in a house in the Albaicin that has a great terrace from which you can see the Alhambra. It is the best place to do homework and we also get to enjoy concerts from our housemate while we eat dinner, drink sangria and watch the sun go down. Of course, you also have to make the most of the afternoon siesta!

My favourite thing to do in Granada is to take a walk after my classes at Escuela Delengua through the Albaicin. There are so many amazing shops, bars and hidden streets: it’s like a maze! There’s always music played in the streets and an amazing atmosphere. I never want to leave!

Granada es una ciudad muy bonita con muchas actividades y tesoros escondidos. En este blog hemos preguntado a los estudiantes que estudian en la Escuela Delengua sobre sus cosas preferidas que hacer en Granada mientras realizan sus cursos intensivos de español.

Me encantan los miradores en Granada, especialmente el Mirador San Miguel Alto. ¡Tienes que andar mucho, pero la vista merece la pena! Puedes ver la Alhambra , Sierra Nevada y toda Granada. ¡Llegamos justo antes de la puesta de sol y fue espectacular!
Mi otra cosa preferida de la ciudad son los Cármenes. Son muy bonitos y característicos de Granada. Fuimos la semana pasada con la Escuela Delengua en una de las actividades y sacamos unas fotos increíbles.

Recomendaría que la gente vaya de tapas a ‘Los Diamantes’ en la Calle Navas, que está cerca del Ayuntamiento. Allí puedes disfrutar el buen ambiente de España y el sabor de muchos tipos de pescado frito. Por supuesto, hay tapas gratis…
Norman:
La casa donde me quedo, tiene una terraza fantástica desde la que puedes ver la Alhambra. Es el mejor lugar para hacer mis deberes y también disfrutamos de la música de nuestros compañeros de piso mientras cenamos, bebemos sangría y vemos la puesta de sol. ¡También tienes que aprovechar la siesta!

Lo que más me gusta de Granada, es pasear por el Albaicin después de mis clases en la Escuela Delengua. Hay muchísimas tiendas, bares y calles escondidas: ¡es como un laberinto! Siempre hay música en las calles y un buen ambiente. ¡No quiero irme nunca!
We were sat at a “Reservado para socios” table which made me feel very important as a Scottish onlooker. There was a feast of melt-in-the mouth “croquettas de pollo”/chicken croquettes, mouth-watering “morcilla y salchichas”/black pudding and mini pork sausages and sweet and tasty “berenjenas con miel de caña” strips, my favourite fried aubergine strips with Andalucían sugar-cane honey.
Lovely! You must have been a good time studying Spanish there. A calm scenario in Granada is very helpful for learning. With native teachers, your intonation, pronunciation and idiomatic expressions will be perfect. Since sights are within easy walking distance, you can enjoy Spanish cultural festivals along with study.
