Quizás te sorprenda que haya una estación de esquí a tan sólo 30 kilómetros del centro de Granada, más conocido por sus playas y buen tiempo. Pero es la verdad: en Granada, puedes esquiar en Sierra Nevada por la mañana y pasar la tarde tomando el sol en las playas de la Costa Tropical. El fin de semana pasado, la estación de esquí de Sierra Nevada acogió a más de siete mil personas que querían disfrutar de la nieve. Debido a la cantidad de nieve que hemos tenido en las montañas en las últimas semanas, pudieron abrir las pistas de esquí con dos semanas de antelación, lo que alegró mucho a los esquiadores. Sin embargo, practicar el esquí no es la única razón para asistir a las pistas este invierno. Si no te gusta esquiar, ¿por qué no disfrutar de la nieve con un tobogán o un paseo en un trineo de perros? Se puede hacer todo esto y mucho más aquí en Granada: con la nieve, Sierra Nevada se convierte en un lugar completamente diferente, y no creerás que estés en España. It may well surprise you that there is a ski resort just 30km from the city centre of Granada, a city better known for its beaches and fantastic weather. But it is true: in Granada, you can ski in Sierra Nevada in the morning, then spend the afternoon sunbathing on the beaches of the Tropical Coast. Last weekend, the ski resort of Sierra Nevada welcomed more than seven thousand people who were keen to enjoy the snow. Due to the amount of snow that we have had in the mountains in the last few weeks, they have been able to open the pistes two weeks early, much to the delight of the skiers. However, skiing is not the only reason to head to the slopes this winter. If you’re not a fan of skiing, why not enjoy the snow with a toboggan or a ride in a sled pulled by huskies? All this and more is on offer in Granada: in the snow, Sierra Nevada becomes a completely different place, and you’ll find it hard to believe that you’re in Spain. Come and do a Spanish course here at Escuela Delengua between December and May, and you’ll be able to take advantage of Sierra Nevada and all the winter activities it offers!
