| Granada es famosa por sus tapas gratis, y el tapeo (ir de tapas) es un costumbre sagrado en la ciudad. Si pides una bebida te ponen una tapa. Hay un montón de bares de tapas en Granada y hay que conocer donde están los mejores. El Bar Diamantes en el centro de la ciudad en Calle Navas es conocido por su calidad, con cada cerveza nos pondrán una tapa de pescado fresco como gambas fritas, calamar, coquinas y muchas mas. Cuando en el Bar Diamantes se les acaba el pescado, cierran. En la zona del Mercado de San Agustín cerca de la Catedral hay dos lugares buenos de tapas. Uno de ellos es el Bar Restaurante Oliver en la Plaza Pescadería que ofrece una variedad de platos excelentes, cada uno mejor que el anterior. En la misma plaza también está situado el Cunini, famoso por sus frituras y gambas de Motril. Su barra es conocida como ‘el tranvía’ por la cantidad de gente que se agolpa a su alrededor. Además, tienen uno de los mejores mariscos de la ciudad. Eso sí, hay que pedirlo aparte, no lo ponen con la cerveza. En el barrio del Albaicín hay el Restaurante Casa Torcuato en Calle Pagés, allí ponen unas tapas que realmente son raciones de comida típica de España como paella de carne o pescado. Y si hablamos del Albaicín, no podemos dejar de lado el Sacromonte: allí hay la Casa Juanillo en el Camino del Sacromonte con una vista preciosa. Allí, se puede comer a base de tapas y raciones pero solo abren para cenar. Modesta y económica, es frecuentado sobre todo por granadinos; aquí se puede disfrutar de platos caseros como la tortilla del Sacromonte, gambas, chuletillas de cordero o las papas a lo pobre. Si el cliente tiene suerte podrá disfrutar de un espectáculo flamenco, pero solamente si tiene suerte porque no es un tablao. También hay unos de los mejores bares en Calle Elvira que es al lado de la Escuela Delengua, la escuela de español. When the fish is finished in Bar Diamantes, then they close. In the area of the Mercado de San Agustín, near to the cathedral, there are two good places for tapas. One of them is the bar Restaurante Oliver in the Plaza Pescadería that offers a variety of excellent dishes and each one better than the last. In the same plaza is Cunini, famous for its fried food and shrimps from Motril. Its bar is known as ‘the tram’ for the amount of people that hang around it. Furthermore, they have some of the best seafood in the city. But you have to ask for this separately, they don’t give it to you with a drink. In the Albaicín there is the Restaurante Casa Torcuato in Calle Pagés, they do typically Spanish tapas like meat or fish paella with big portions too. As we are talking about the Albaicín then we can’t leave out the Sacromonte: Casa Juanillo is there on the Camino del Sacromonte, with a beautiful view and where you can also eat tapas but it only opens for dinner. Modest and economical, it is popular amongst the locals in Granada; here you can enjoy homemade dishes like the tortilla of the Sacromonte, prawns, lamb chops or fried potatoes.
