There exist antigue written pieces of evidence about that they speak a different kind of castellano in Andalusia as in the other parts of the Peninsula. This shows as well, that this variety developed it-self from the historic castellano and not just from the normative castellano which is today spoken in Spain. In its history you can also find the fact, that the Andalusian has similarities with the Mozarabian which were spoken in Al-Ándaluz.
The Andalusian is characterized for some specialities. Refering to the normative Spanish there are linguistic differences on the phonetic, phonologic, morphologic, sintactic, semantic and lexical levels. The most popular difference might be the “yeísmo” as well as the “ceceo” and the “seseo. The “yeísmo” referes to the identical pronounication of the sounds /ll/ and /ye/. For example the phrase Quien no ha visto Sevilla no ha visto maravilla/ Who didn’t see Sevilla, didn’t see wonder would be in Andalusian Quien no á visto Seviya no á visto maraviya. The “ceceo” and “seseo” refer to the pronounciation of the sounds /s/ and /θ/. In Andalusia they mainly use the “ceceo”, that means the pronounciation of the sound /θ/. The phrase Las cosas deben decirse con sencillez/ The things should be told with simplicity would be pronounced in Andalusian Las coθas deven deθí θe con θenθiyé.
